Eligibility & Application
Single Mom Scholars Houston accepts applications from low-income, single mothers who live in the Houston area and are actively enrolled in a college degree program within the healthcare field. Applicants are reviewed through a competitive, needs-based process that considers current enrollment, academic progress, commitment to completing a healthcare degree, and responses to the application questions.
The number of scholars accepted each year depends on available program capacity and donor-supported resources. Selected applicants are contacted directly by Single Mom Scholars Houston, and all applications remain on file for future consideration as space allows.
Requirements for application:
-
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
-
Reside in the Houston metropolitan area
-
Have at least one child under the age of 16 living with them
