Single Mom Scholars
Houston
Empower low-income single mothers to attain a college degree, achieve financial independence, build a family legacy, and elevate their communities
Empowering Houston’s Single Mothers Through Education
Single Mom Scholars Houston is committed to helping single mothers transform their lives through higher education—specifically in the growing and essential field of healthcare. Our program removes many of the barriers that commonly stand in the way of single mothers’ success, offering a supportive community, targeted professional development, and guidance that helps moms stay on track and thrive in school while raising their families.
Now Enrolling Single Moms Pursuing Healthcare Degrees
Single Mom Scholars Houston is officially open! As part of a national program founded in 2002 and expanded to Dallas in 2019, we support low-income single mothers earning college degrees—now specializing in healthcare pathways for Houston-area students. Our goal is to remove obstacles and surround each mom with the community and resources needed to succeed.
Houston Leadership Team
The leadership behind Single Mom Scholar is united by one goal: helping single mothers succeed in college and beyond. With a deep understanding of the challenges these women face, our team brings experience, empathy, and a relentless commitment to building pathways to brighter futures.
